An Ode to Saturday Night

Working alone on a saturday night
Is like watching two purple tigers fight
We're not sure why
Cami thinks she might cry

A lady just walked up with a ton of books
People are giving me strange looks
We just found out that BYU lost the game
To Florida State, now thats just lame

The LRC doesnt have The Dead Poet's Society
Unless its not true, But why would Cami lie to me?
Now we dont know what to watch
Oops, the only rhyme we can think of now is crotch

So my feet are really sore
My sister just turned red saying whore
So I earned a free bok from an old man
I wont get to read it till Christmas in Japan

Another saturday night and I aint got nobody
Everybody just wants somebody
I cheated, those are both from a song
But I'll give you two dollars if you can sing along

Cami and I love to quote Movies
"Stop contradicting me!" thats from the Goonies
We're pretty much the most epic people you'll ever met
Just Never take Cami's seat

Sunnie needs a Cannn Rebel SLR
But nothing really rhymes with that
Oh well... The End

Goonies Never Say Die

Here we areHanging onto strains of greed and blues

Break the chain then we break down

Oh it's not real if you don't feel it

Unspoken expectations

Ideals you used to play with

They've finally taken shape for us.

What's good enough for you

Is good enough for me

It's good enough

It's good enough for me

Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

Now you'll say

You're startin' to feel the push and pull

Of what could be and never can

You mirror me stumblin' through those

Old fashioned superstitions

I find too hard to break

Oh maybe you're out of place

What's good enough for you

Is good enough for me

It's good enough

It's good enough for me

Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah(Good Enough)

So I just thought that this song kinda summed up the last few days of our life here at BYU

"Who needs to know When it all comes and where it all goes"

So I am loving Sunnie's blogs. I have no comment on the second video today, less said is better.

I feel like this line from "Charmed life" sums up how I should be feeling right now trying to finalize our move to Japan. All that really matters is that we are going to the right place right. John promised me that my life would be like a movie, and a movie with no drama is boring.

It is four o'clock in the afternoon and I am still in my pjs. (no pics for this one) I am living Sunnie style here all by myself. I have however gotten alot of paperwork done.

I love this pic of John and I from Sunnie's graduation dinner and looking and the sparkle in his eyes helps me to realize that if I get to be with him forever the drama is all worth it.

I can't help but add this next one too. John confessed to me later that he was really trying to smile normal when we were jumping. We all thought he was trying to be silly. I think it makes it even more funny to find out he wasn't trying to be funny. I think I laughed until I cried when he confessed later that night.

"Ridin' down the highway, goin' to a show"

Ok, so I feel like the blog titles should really have quotes around them, since we're stealing them from songs and all, lets give credit where credit is due. So we are here, safe in Utah, I am sitting in the living room with Grandma and Grandpa watching an old western. Woot! Anyway, I have a little notebook that I was putting all of the Blog ideas in, but it's upstairs and I don't want to wake up Cami so I'll just try to remember. So we got up and decided we were going to Burger King for breakfast. Too bad the GPS led us to some dead end street with, you guessed it, no Burger King! Good thing I had apples =]
These stuffed bears were at the Gas Station. Why you might ask? I'm not sure, perhaps for great photo opportunities. So we filled up with gas and I wanted a pair of sunglasses that weren't scratched. I found the only pair under ten dollars and HAD to buy them. Aren't they cool? Hmmm, what else? I learned that there are alligators in Idaho, we bought cherries from an old man with a playboy hat, OH! Cami had a school spirit moment! She said we should write on the back of the truck, "I bleed blue for BYU." See, there's hope for her yet!
We named the GPS Kuzco, from the Emperor’s New Groove. He earned this name for the Burger King incident, we figured it went well with the quote, “I'm the Emperor, and as such, I'm born with an innate sense of direction. Okay, where am I?” As such, it’s only fitting that we nicknamed the truck Pancha. I bought hand sanitizer!! I love that stuff! I’m sure I’m forgetting some stuff but I can’t remember what. However, I think I am doing a fantastic job keeping this updated!!! Ok, here are the videos for the day.

Now this next one I hesitated to put up here, but why not, you only live once right?

Got Just Enough Religion and a Half a Tank of Gas, Come on, Lets Go!

This is Cami and Sunnie checking in! It's actually Sunnie writing. We are somewhere in Oregon, Pendleton or something. We had great intentions to make it to Boise tonight...oh well. But we got to go swimming!! This lovely picture above is us before our journey down to the pool and it really was a journey. The first gate didn't work and the second one was way way tricky, a little tween girl had to help me open it! however, I just have things with Motel 6 doors. I can't get our door open. Sad day hu? However, this room is rented in MY NAME!!! I'm such an adult now =] Wow, it's way windy! The wind is whistling under the doorway. Oh, the second picture is the view from our balcony. Well the balcony out side the room. It looks like it could be a Motel 6 add hu?I think Pendleton should be the new windy city. Oh, we stopped at this rest stop too, it was a scary place! Here are the videos;

haha, that one was for you dad =]

Hmmmm, what else to add? We're pretty much epic, we're having a fun time. Cami isn't responding to me, so I don't think she has anything else to add. We Love you all, we're Epic.

The End

P.S-So yeah, we used another Bon Jovi song. He's just cool like that I guess. Ok, this really is the end now. I'll try and keep you updated on this trip =]

Just Older

It is really amazing that last week I was in the Pacific Ocean on a submarine and this week I am on an aircraft carrier in the Atlantic. Some fun facts

Length of the flight deck 1096 feet. Length of submarine about 360 feet You could take almost six submarines and put them on the deck of the carrier. This ship is as long as the empire state building is tall.

Width of the deck at widest point 251 feet

Height from waterline to mast 20 stories high

Area of flight deck 4.5 acres

Water displacement 97,000 tons

There are 4 screws about 21 feet across each weighs 66,200 pounds

More than 60 aircraft on board

More than 5,000 people on board

2,700 compartments

Meals served each day 18,150

Anchors weigh 30 tons each (60,000 pounds) there are two

Length of anchor chain 2,082 feet with 684 links. Each link of chain weighs 365 pounds
I am sharing a cabin with another commander. It is about half the size of mom and dad’s bedroom. We have to walk down the hall to a shared bathroom. The will come and do my laundry each day. I had to get a green laundry bag (I got two because I was nice, one for whites one for colors) The do serve meals 4 times a day. Food is O.K. They did have fresh watermelon the last couple of days (big mistake but tasted good). It took two days but I did find the gym.

Now the song!

Hey, man, it's been a while Do you remember me?
When I hit these streets I was 17
A little wild, a little green
I've been up and down and in between
After all these years miles and memories
I'm still chasing dreams
But I ain't looking over my shoulder

I like the bed I'm sleeping in
And just like me, it's broken in
It's not old -- just older
Like a favorite pair of torn blue jeans
The skin I'm in it's alright with me
It's not old -- just older

"Could I have this Dance?"

John Jay, I Love you! I hope that this blog reaches you out there in the Atlantic ocean. In trying to pick the first post I was going through Bon Jovi songs looking for the perfect set of lyrics and ended up choosing this song instead. For a long time I remembered the first dance we danced too and then through the years...... However that night as we danced I knew - and I fell in love with you. Thank you for that first dance and every dance since. You have indeed kept your promise to make my life like a movie.

This song all though not classic rock has always been a favorite of yours. I look forward to dancing with your for the rest of our lives and beyond!!!!

I'll always remember the song they were playin',

The first time we danced and I knew,

As we swayed to the music and held to each other,

I fell in love with you.

Could I have this dance for the rest of my life?

Would you be my partner every night?

When we're together, it feels so right.

Could I have this dance for the rest of my life?

I'll always remember that magic moment,

When I held you close to me.

'Cause we moved together, I knew forever,

You're all I'll ever need

Could I have this dance for the rest of my life?

Would you be my partner every night?

When we're together, it feels so right.

Could I have this dance for the rest of my life?
